Environmental Day was celebrated at Guru Nanak Foundation Public School, Mohali with great fervour and enthusiasm. The school management and staff in collaboration with the Punjab Pollution Control Board took an initiative to create awareness about various issues regarding the environment among the students. On this occasion, a sGNFPS.2.6-(5)logan writing and painting competition was also organized for Classes 9, 10, and +2 on the theme “Fight Against Illegal Trade of Wild Animals”.

A tree plantation drive was also held in which Environmental Engineer S.S. Matharoo planted few colourful plants. Thereafter, the results were announced and children were given refreshment. School staff worked hard to make this event successful.

School Principal Namita Lal said that eco-friendly habits should be developed and urged the students to take a pledge today to make the Earth a better place to live in and to serve Mother Earth by promoting sustainable development.
