She Leads, Society Thrives: Celebrating Women’s Power

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the district administration organized a seminar on “She Leads Collective”, with Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap as the chief guest.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that women’s leadership, confidence, and collective action empower society. He said when women lead together, social progress accelerates. Education, technology, and active participation are helping women become aware of their rights and inspire the next generation. She Leads Collective reinforces that collaboration paves the way for equality, respect, and progress.

  • Harshita Thakur, Special Olympics World Winter Games Bronze and Silver medalist, encouraged participants by saying determination can achieve anything.

  • DSP Gulshan Negi spoke on women’s safety laws and the empowerment associated with the uniform.

  • Santosh Sharma, Chairperson of the Child Welfare Committee, highlighted the evolving role of women and stressed giving children attention and reducing mobile use.

  • Poonam Thakur, Assistant Commissioner Excise, shared her experience of exceeding revenue targets and conducting GST awareness campaigns in schools.

  • Dr. Ravindra Banshtu urged women to incorporate sports in daily life to reduce stress and maintain health.

  • Kalpana, a breast cancer awareness activist for 15 years, emphasized early detection and running educational programs for underprivileged children.

  • SHO Mamta Raghuvanshi highlighted women’s central role in households and the need to raise awareness among men.

  • Kamayani Bisht, Principal of Fine Arts College, called for equal treatment of boys and girls at home and encouraged women’s groups for mutual support.

  • Vandana Bhagra stressed legal awareness and solidarity to prevent violence against women.

  • Assistant Professor Neelam Thakur warned against health hazards from refined food and excessive plastic use in kitchens.

  • Councillors Asha and Nisha spoke about supporting daughters’ education and teaching values to sons.

  • Tanuja motivated women to pursue their dreams beyond domestic confines for societal and national progress.

  • Dr. Nivedita, District Planning Officer, said work assignments should not be gender-based.
