To promote environmental awareness among youth, the SHIELD Trust (Safeguarding Himachal’s Integrity, Environment, Landmarks & Dignity) partnered with Kullu Science School, Bashing, to conduct a tree plantation drive under the theme “Green Today | Greener Tomorrow.”
During the event, students, faculty, and volunteers planted 10 cedar saplings across the school grounds. To extend the campaign’s impact, additional saplings were distributed for participants to plant near their homes. The event was made possible through the support of the Kullu Forest Department, which provided both the saplings and technical guidance.
School Principal Indu Bhardwaj praised the effort, reminding students that planting a tree comes with the duty to care for it long-term. Ritanjali Hastir, President of SHIELD Trust, highlighted that protecting Himachal Pradesh’s natural beauty requires active youth participation. Expressing gratitude to the school leadership and volunteers, Dr. Yogesh Bhardwaj, Secretary of SHIELD Trust, concluded the event by stating that the drive’s true achievement lies in ensuring the healthy survival and growth of every tree planted.
