Shimla – District Level Under-14 Girls Sports Competition at Rampur

The four-day district level under-14 girls sports competition organised at Padma Government Senior Secondary School, Rampur was inaugurated today by Chairman, Himachal Pradesh State Finance Commission, Nand Lal, by lighting the lamp.On this occasion, he said that 848 girl students from 21 blocks of Shimla district are participating in the district level under-14 girl students sports competition to be held from 17 September to 20 September 2024. He told the girl students to play the games in the spirit of sports and become the winner in the competition and participate in the state level sports competition.

He said that in today’s time, be it sports or studies, there is a lot of competition in all and only those children who work hard will be able to move ahead. He said that along with sports, pay special attention to studies and get good marks. He said that sports not only lead to physical and mental development but also maintain discipline in children. In today’s time, only a disciplined and hardworking boy or girl can move ahead and achieve new heights. Nand Lal said that in this district level sports competition, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Badminton, Yoga, Chess, Judo and Wrestling competitions will be organized. He wished all the students good luck for this four day sports competition.

In the programme, a march past was done by the school girls and the chief guest was saluted. Sarahan block secured the first position in the march past and the Chairman, Himachal Pradesh Finance Commission honoured them with a trophy. On this occasion, the students and SMC members of the school presented colourful cultural programmes. Principal Padma Government Senior Secondary School Boys Rampur R.C. Gupta welcomed the chief guest and presented him a memento.

During this, Tourism Director Yashpal Soni, Assistant District Physical Education Officer Rajesh Chauhan, Block Education Officer Hemlata, Panchayat Samiti President Rampur Ashish Kaith, District Council Member Bimla Sharma, Rampur Urban Congress President Rajesh Gupta, District Shimla Under-14 Girl Student Sports Competition Incharge Babita Chauhan, State President of Physical Teachers Association Lalit Chauhan, Nominated Councilor Sushil Thakur were also present.
