The South West Monsoon is likely to wreak further havoc in the state as three districts were kept on high alert by the Indian Meteorological Hydro met Division for moderate to high flash flood risk over a few watersheds and neighborhoods in Shimla, Sirmaaur, and Chamba districts of Himachal Pradesh.

A special bulletin issued by the IMD hydro met division said that surface runoff or inundation (water logging) may occur at some fully saturated watersheds and low-lying areas due to expected persistent rainfall in the next 24 hours.

The alert was sounded at 1200 hrs on Saturday, and it would be effective after 1300 hrs onwards.

In the Weather forecast for the next two days, six districts, including Kangra, Mandi, Shimla, Sirmaur, Bilaspur, and Solan, are kept on orange alert, while barring Kinnaur, the rest of the district is on yellow alert.

Six districts that are in orange alert may have heavy to very heavy rainfall, and in the rest, five that are in yellow alert may have moderate to heavy rainfall.
