The Shimla Wildlife Division marked the 79th Independence Day with patriotic zeal and heartfelt recognition of its frontline staff across various Ranges. At the Division office in Khalini, Shimla, the celebration included the hoisting of the National Flag, the National Anthem, and a formal ceremony.

A key highlight of the event was the presentation of appreciation certificates to 32 staff members for their dedication, integrity, and exceptional service in wildlife conservation and biodiversity protection.

Chairing the event, Dr. Shahnawaz Bhat, IFS, Deputy Conservator of Forests, applauded the staff’s consistent efforts in safeguarding endangered species, restoring habitats, and minimizing human-wildlife conflict. He emphasized that their hard work, often under tough conditions, is the backbone of conservation success in the region.

Dr. Bhat encouraged continued commitment, stating that protecting wildlife is not only a professional responsibility but a moral obligation to future generations. The event concluded with a vote of thanks to all personnel contributing to Himachal Pradesh’s environmental stewardship.
