Nand Lal Sharma, the Chairman & Managing Director of SJVN (Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam), kick-started the Vigilance Awareness Week 2023 with a meaningful initiative at the Corporate Headquarters in Shimla. The event began with the administration of the Integrity Pledge to the employees. Accompanying him were Smt. Geeta Kapur, Director (Personnel), Akhileshwar Singh, Director (Finance), and several senior officials.

Mr. Nand Lal Sharma emphasized the importance of observing Vigilance Awareness Week every year, highlighting its role in creating greater awareness among employees and the public about the significance of ethics and transparency, both in personal and professional domains. The theme of Vigilance Awareness Week 2023 is ‘Say No to Corruption; Commit to the Nation.’ Mr. Sharma passionately encouraged everyone to actively participate in vigilance initiatives in the ongoing fight against corruption.

The Integrity Pledge wasn’t confined to the Corporate Headquarters alone; it was administered to employees at various SJVN offices and projects across the nation. This widespread participation underscores the commitment of SJVN to fostering a culture of integrity and ethical conduct.

In a broader effort, SJVN is actively engaged in a three-month-long awareness campaign, spanning from August 16th to November 15th, 2023. This campaign focuses on preventive vigilance measures, aiming to build a resilient and corruption-free environment. As part of the upcoming Vigilance Awareness Week, a series of in-house and outreach activities are planned.

These include quizzes, slogan writing competitions, and declamation contests, open not only to employees but also to students and the local population. The core objective of these programs is to raise awareness and disseminate the powerful message of a corruption-free India. By promoting a strong ethical foundation, SJVN believes it can contribute to the overall development of the nation.

SJVN’s commitment to ethical conduct and integrity is a beacon of hope in the fight against corruption. Through initiatives like the Vigilance Awareness Week and the associated awareness campaign, SJVN aims to inspire and engage the community in building a better, more transparent India.
