A significant meeting focusing on the welfare of Safai Karamcharis took place today at the Corporate Headquarters of SJVN in Shimla. The meeting was chaired by the Vice Chairperson of the National Commission for Safai Karamcharis, Anjana Panwar. She was warmly welcomed by SJVN’s Chairman and Managing Director, Sushil Sharma, along with Director (Personnel) Ajay Kumar Sharma, Executive Director (HR) Chandrashekhar Yadav, and other senior officials of SJVN.

During her address, Anjana Panwar emphasized the commitment of the National Commission for Safai Karamcharis to enhance the socio-economic conditions and welfare of sanitation workers across India. She commended the initiatives launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, highlighting his leadership in promoting dignity and respect for Safai Karamcharis. Anjana Panwar acknowledged the vital role played by these workers during the global pandemic, recognizing their invaluable service to the nation.
The meeting featured an interaction session where Anjana Panwar engaged with Safai Karamcharis of SJVN, medical officers, representatives from EPFO, and managers of contracting agencies. Chandrashekhar Yadav presented an overview of various welfare programs initiated by SJVN for the benefit of Safai Karamcharis.
Anjana Panwar expressed her appreciation for SJVN’s ongoing initiatives and urged officials to address issues related to Safai Karamcharis with empathy. She recommended improvements in working conditions, including the provision of weather-appropriate uniforms, regular full-body medical check-ups twice a year, insurance coverage for all Safai Karamcharis, and awareness camps for their families about various Central Government schemes.
Sushil Sharma reassured the Vice Chairperson that SJVN is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of Safai Karamcharis. He confirmed that the company complies with statutory requirements and will implement the suggestions discussed in the meeting.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Director (Personnel) Ajay Kumar Sharma, reinforcing SJVN’s dedication to the welfare of Safai Karamcharis.
