State-owned power utility SJVN has extended financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh to the Mukhya Mantri Sukh Aashray Kosh under the Mukhya Mantri Sukh Aashray Scheme of the Himachal Pradesh government, reaffirming its commitment to social welfare through corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Sharing the details, SJVN Chairman and Managing Director Bhupender Gupta said the contribution has been made as part of the company’s CSR obligations to support inclusive and sustainable development in the state. The cheque was formally presented to Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu in Shimla. The occasion was attended by Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Kuldeep Singh Pathania and Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Head of Forest Force Sanjay Sood. The cheque was handed over by Vikas Marwah, Head of Project at the Rampur Hydro Power Station, and Vivek Sharma, Head of Project at the Luhri Hydro Power Project (Stage-I).
Ajay Kumar Sharma, Director (Personnel), SJVN and Chairman of the SJVN Foundation, said the Mukhya Mantri Sukh Aashray Scheme is a landmark initiative of the state government aimed at providing comprehensive care, protection and long-term support to orphaned, abandoned and surrendered children in Himachal Pradesh. He added that the financial support from SJVN Foundation would help address critical future needs of beneficiary children, including education, healthcare, nutrition, housing, skill development and overall rehabilitation.

Through its CSR framework, SJVN continues to focus on key development areas such as health and hygiene, education and skill development, infrastructure creation, disaster relief, sustainable development, and the promotion and preservation of culture and sports.
