SJVN Signs Power Sale Agreement with DVC for 200 MW Supply from Arun-III HEP

In a strategic move towards regional energy integration and financial collaboration in the power sector, SJVN Ltd. has signed a Power Sale Agreement (PSA) with Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) for the supply of 200 MW of clean hydro energy from its flagship 900 MW Arun-III Hydro Electric Project located in Nepal.


💼 Big Boost to India-Nepal Energy Ties: Arun-III PSA Signed with DVC

The agreement was formalized in New Delhi in the august presence of:

  • Bhupender Gupta, CMD (Addl. Charge), SJVN
  • Sushil Sharma, Director (Projects), SJVN
  • Ajay Kumar Sharma, Director (Personnel), SJVN
  • Sanjeev Srivastava, ED, DVC

The PSA was signed by Sh. R.K. Gupta, Chief General Manager (Power Trading), SJVN and Sh. Samit Mandal, Senior General Manager (Commercial), DVC. Senior officials from both PSUs were also in attendance.


🌊 Strategic Investment: Arun-III HEP to Add 900 MW Green Power by FY 2027-28

Being developed by SJVN Arun-3 Power Development Company Pvt. Ltd. (SAPDC), a fully owned subsidiary of SJVN, the 900 MW Arun-III project is situated in Nepal’s Sankhuwasabha District. Upon commissioning by FY 2027–28, the project will generate 900 MW of renewable energy, contributing significantly to the clean power portfolio of India.


🔗 India-Nepal Energy Partnership Strengthens via SAPDC

SAPDC represents a high-impact cross-border investment venture that not only secures energy trade between India and Nepal but also strengthens regional energy security. This initiative is set to catalyze economic growth and financial returns through sustainable hydropower development in the Arun River Basin.
