The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) organised a two-day English Core Senior Secondary Level workshop at St. Thomas’ School, Shimla, on May 23 and 24, 2026, focusing on enhancing English language teaching methods and promoting the effective use of technology in classroom instruction.
The workshop aimed to equip teachers with innovative and simplified approaches to teaching English grammar and language skills, while also encouraging the integration of digital tools in education.
Jyotsna and Ashok Kumar Sharma served as keynote speakers and resource persons for the session. The programme began with the traditional lighting of the lamp ceremony, followed by a welcome address by Principal Sharon Nanda, who also briefed participants about the objectives of the workshop. The resource persons were felicitated by the school on the occasion.
Teachers from St. Thomas’ School as well as various nearby schools participated in the workshop, making it a collaborative platform for professional learning and exchange of ideas among educators in the region.
In the closing remarks, Anshul Sharma, STNC of St. Thomas’ School, expressed gratitude to the speakers and participants. Principal Nanda appreciated the successful conduct of the workshop and announced that more CBSE Capacity Building Programmes (CBPs), subject core sessions, and in-house training initiatives would be organised in the future.
