St. Thomas School, Shimla, celebrated its Senior Wing Annual Appreciation Day for Classes IX to XII on November 13, 2024. The event was marked by enthusiastic participation from students, parents, and distinguished guests, creating an atmosphere of celebration and achievement.
Dr. Kamayani Bisht, the Chief Guest, graced the occasion with her presence, lending prestige to the event. The celebration was a showcase of culture and talent, featuring a series of captivating performances that highlighted the richness of Indian traditions. The program began with a unique fusion of Sufi and ballet in a prayer dance, followed by a harmonious performance by the teaching staff. The elegant Assamese Bihu dance brought the vibrant culture of Assam to life, while the Hindi comedy play “Yamraj ki Adalat” offered humor intertwined with thought-provoking reflections on life’s truths. Himachali Natti showcased the traditions of Himachal Pradesh, and the Yakshagana dance from South India emphasized Karnataka’s cultural identity. The program concluded with the school anthem, sung by students with pride.
Principal Ms. Vidhupriya Chakravarty presented the annual school report, highlighting the school’s accomplishments in academics, sports, and various extracurricular activities.
Students were recognized for their exceptional performance in multiple categories. In Class VIII, Priya Jha won the first prize in General Proficiency, followed by Chahat Verma in second place and Ripunjay in third. Ridhi Bhardwaj and Sargam received Good Conduct awards, while Chirag Bhardwaj and Aditya Bhatia were honored for Full Attendance.
In Class IX, Divyanshi Himta secured the first prize in General Proficiency, Payal Thakur the second, and Kanika Verma the third. Mohd. Amir received the Good Conduct award. For Class X, Tushar Sharma won first place in General Proficiency, with Gauri Bhardwaj in second and Lakshay Verma in third. The Good Conduct award was presented to Palak Shakya.
In Class XI Commerce, Gautam Gharu claimed first place in General Proficiency, followed by Abhay Gupta and Jatin Thakur in second and third places, respectively. In Class XI Arts, the first prize went to Devesh Rana, with Muskan Singh and Shivani Thakur taking the second and third places. For Class XI Science, Pradyun Dharma earned the first prize, Shruti Sharma the second, and Khushi Thakur the third.
In Class XII, Disha and Harsh Gharu jointly secured the first prize in Commerce, while Ojas took first place in Arts. Niramaya Sharma was recognized as the top performer in Science.
Subject-wise toppers in Class XII included Raghav Nahar, who scored a perfect 100% in Painting, Mansi with 96% in History, and a top score of 94% in Physical Education. Kuwarjeet Singh topped in Accountancy with 76% and Business Studies with 77%, while Anshika excelled in Information Practices with 89%. Yash topped Physics with 71%, Anirudh Chemistry with 74%, and Tulip Geography with 80%.
Special recognition was given to UDAAN Scholarship holders: Gauri Bhardwaj for Science, Lakshay Verma for Science and Maths, Shagun Rajora for Maths, and Palak Shakya, who was the overall fourth topper of Class X. The prestigious Student of the Year award was bestowed upon Raghav Nahar, and Toshqui House was honored with the Best House Trophy.
The school also acknowledged the invaluable contributions of its media partners from print and digital platforms.
