State Government in the year 2020-21 Provided Scholarships to 782 Divyangjan at the cost of 96 Lakh Rupees

Director Scheduled Caste, Minorities and Backward Class and Specially Abled Empowerment Department Vivek Bhatia stated here today that the State Government in the year 2020-21 provided scholarships to 782 Divyangjan at the cost of 96 lakh rupees. He was presiding over the State level International Disability Day function at the Gaiety Theatre. He said the State government was providing vocational education to the Divyangjan for provision of livelihood. Also, training is provided free of cost and stipend is also given to the trainees.

He added that the State Government is providing 4 per cent reservation to Disabled persons in Class 1 to Class 4 posts and more than1959 posts have been up from persons with disabilities. He further added that the State Government was encouraging self employment ventures and to provide social security, Disability Relief Allowance was being provided to 66032 persons in the State without income criteria to assimilate them in the mainstream and give opportunities to lead productive and dignified lives.
