The State Government has approved additional funds of Rs. 22.44 crore to fast-track the construction and enhancement of various healthcare buildings across Himachal Pradesh. This initiative aims to further strengthen healthcare services in the state and improve access to quality healthcare for its residents.
A spokesperson from the Health Department shared that the funds will be allocated to several key health institutions. Specifically, Rs. 7.92 crore has been earmarked for the establishment of a Cath Lab at District Hospital Kullu, while Rs. 2.64 crore will go towards building Type-IV and Type-III quarters and an additional block at Civil Hospital Nadaun. Rs. 1.98 crore will support infrastructure improvements at Civil Hospital Kandaghat. Additionally, Rs. 3.30 crore has been allocated for Civil Hospital Amb in Una district.
In further allocations, Rs. 1.32 crore each will be provided for various projects, including doctors’ residences at the Community Health Centre Haripur (Kangra), the Community Health Centre building at Haripur Dehra, doctors’ residences at Civil Hospital Dehra, the building at Primary Health Centre Bankhandi (Kangra), and the hospital at Gagret.
The spokesperson emphasized that under the leadership of CM Sukhu, the government is committed to providing advanced and specialized healthcare services close to people’s homes. With a focus on strengthening health infrastructure, the government is also introducing state-of-the-art medical technologies in medical colleges across the state, ensuring that patients no longer need to travel outside Himachal Pradesh for specialized care.
