A spokesperson of Himachal Pradesh State Pollution Control Board informed here today that Board would organize a first ever State Level Inter School Quiz Competition, Himachal Enviro Quiz- 2022 on the theme of Environment with an objective of generating awareness amongst children and driving consciousness to save the environment. The quiz is being organized in partnership with ITC Nimyle under its Corporate Social Responsibility program Nimyle Eco Friendly India Mission. District Level round of the quiz will be online and will be conducted on a dedicated website bit.ly/himachalenviroquiz 2022 being created specifically for this quiz competition. He said that the month long activity has commenced from 7th May, 2022 with online registration of all public and private higher and senior secondary schools of the State.

Schools would need to register themselves and maximum of three teams (each team comprising of two students) for participation in the District Level round. The last date of registration for participation in the District Level round is 17th May, 2022. Online registration link for the same is bit.ly/register-enviroquiz2022. Online District level round would be held on 20th May, 2022, wherein, team will have to take/answer 30 questions in 15 minutes. Top 36 teams will move to physical round of the State Level Quiz Competition hosted by quiz master Venky Srinivasan, CEO Nexus Consulting. It would be held on 5th June, 2022 at Shimla to commemorate the eve of the World Environment Day 2022. He said that children are the future of the country and safe keepers of our environment. He hoped that the quiz would be a right trigger to induce positive attitude towards environment conservation.

The State Pollution Control Board in association with the Department of Education aims to reach out nearly 4200 public and private high and senior secondary schools and about 8000 teams for participation in the District Level round. Students from 8th to 12th class shall be eligible to participate in this quiz competition and participants and winners would be conferred with certificates and awards. It is also pertinent to mention here that State Pollution Control Board in association with the Department of Education had also conducted school level quiz competition to commemorate the World Earth Day 2022 on 22nd April, 2022 with an objective to raise awareness among students on the issues pertaining to environment protection and pollution control.
