Sukhu today launched the Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana for 2,238 eligible women of Banjar development block during a public event at Dehuri in Kullu district. Marking a significant step in women empowerment, the CM transferred ₹4,500 per beneficiary—covering the April to June 2025 period—directly into their savings accounts, amounting to a total disbursement of ₹1.01 crore.
Under this scheme, the state government provides ₹1,500 per month to eligible women. The Chief Minister reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting underprivileged and previously overlooked sections of society. He announced that the scheme will soon be extended to include domestic working women and daughters of widows, ensuring broader social and financial inclusion.
Responding to political criticism, CM Sukhu asserted that his government is delivering on its promises by curbing corruption and redirecting public savings towards welfare initiatives. “This is just the beginning,” he said, adding that all eligible women in a phased manner will eventually receive the promised monthly assistance.
Additionally, the CM distributed ₹5.87 lakh to 37 beneficiaries under various welfare schemes, including Beti Hai Anmol Yojana, Shagun Yojana, Mukhya Mantri Kanyadan Yojana, Sukh Shiksha Yojana, and Sukh-Aashray Yojana. He also provided tracksuits under the Sukh-Aashray scheme and encouraged residents to actively enroll in government programs to access available benefits.
The event highlighted the government’s broader commitment to social welfare and gender equity in the state.
