CM Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today launched a ‘Unified Digital Calendar and Appointment Management System’ along with a digital gate pass facility to streamline public interaction with the Chief Minister’s Office and improve administrative efficiency.

The new digital gate pass system at the Himachal Pradesh Secretariat will replace manual entry with an automated process that generates downloadable passes. Walk-in visitors can also obtain passes at the reception. The system includes OTP verification, Aadhaar-based facial authentication, and barcode scanning for secure entry.

Calling it a step towards digital governance, the Chief Minister said the platform will act as a “digital bridge” between citizens and the government, enabling smoother scheduling of meetings and faster coordination across departments. Meeting requests will now be processed through a centralized portal and automatically synced with officials’ calendars, with instant notifications to all concerned.

He also directed improved public facilities at Himachal Bhawan and Himachal Sadan in Delhi and Himachal Bhawan in Chandigarh, stressing cleanliness, better services, and quality food for visitors. Maintenance will be handled professionally by the Public Works Department.

The Chief Minister instructed that the initiative be piloted at Himachal Bhawan, Delhi, and set a deadline of 15 June for completion of Himachal Niketan in Delhi. He also ordered QR-based payment systems for bookings across circuit houses in the state to ensure hassle-free public services.
