The picturesque hill town of Kufri witnessed a unique blend of patriotism, adventure, and environmental commitment as the Surya Quest Motorcycle Expedition 2025 – Guardians of the Northern Frontiers was ceremoniously received by the 133 Eco Task Force. The event brought together local residents, dignitaries, military personnel, and eco-warriors in a spirited celebration of national pride and ecological responsibility.
As a mark of the occasion, a plantation drive was conducted at the historic Kufri Heritage Pond, under the aegis of 133 Eco Task Force. The initiative aimed at rejuvenating the fragile Himalayan ecosystem saw the planting of native saplings around the pond to enhance biodiversity, reduce soil erosion, and restore the natural water catchment area. This effort reinforced the shared commitment toward sustainable environmental practices in the hill regions.
Addressing the gathering, Major Lokpal of 5 SIKH emphasized the dual purpose of the event — to salute the valour, resilience, and spirit of the motorcycle expedition team, and to highlight the critical importance of environmental conservation, especially in the ecologically sensitive Himalayan terrain. He also commended the collaboration between civil society and the armed forces in promoting both patriotic values and green consciousness.
