Teachers’ Recruitment for CBSE Schools Soon

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced that teachers for CBSE curriculum schools in Himachal Pradesh will be appointed within the next two months. Addressing the 29th Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony at Siddharth Government College Nadaun, he said the state government is introducing major reforms in the education sector to better prepare youth for future challenges.

The Chief Minister said the Central Board of Secondary Education curriculum is being introduced in 140 government schools across the state. To support the initiative, the Education Department will fill 400 Lecturer and 400 Assistant Lecturer posts. A separate dress code will also be introduced for students studying in these CBSE-pattern schools.

During the event, the Chief Minister also announced Rs. 20 crore for the Science College in Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh. He highlighted that the government has sanctioned Rs. 300 crore for a cancer hospital in Hamirpur along with a super-specialty block. Additionally, a Mother and Child Hospital is being constructed at a cost of Rs. 100 crore to strengthen healthcare services in the region.

He further announced that new academic programmes in Physics, Biology and Botany along with MCA and MBA courses will be introduced at Siddharth Government College Nadaun from the next academic session. Financial assistance of Rs. 5 lakh was also announced to support cultural activities in the college.

Highlighting development plans for the region, Sukhu said a modern sports centre worth Rs. 160 crore is under construction in Khairi, Himachal Pradesh and is expected to be completed by June. He also announced a Rs. 300 crore riverfront project on the Beas River, along with a river rafting centre worth Rs. 80 crore and a wellness centre costing Rs. 100 crore.

The Chief Minister said nine CBSE schools will start functioning in the Nadaun Assembly Constituency from the current academic session. He also mentioned that a new bus stand costing Rs. 300 crore is being constructed in Hamirpur, while the government will spend Rs. 1,500 crore on improving water quality across the state.

Recalling his political journey, Sukhu said Hamirpur district is unique for producing two Chief Ministers, referring to former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal. He added that the present government is working to make Himachal Pradesh self-reliant by 2027 and one of the most prosperous states in the country by 2032.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone of a multipurpose hall at Siddharth Government College Nadaun, which will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 17.22 crore.
