The Snowport Enterprise, a startup founded by a Shimla-based young entrepreneur, Anuj Sharma (23), has launched its official online marketplace “Tequeela” (www.tequeela.com) where it’s offering first collection of designer smartphone accessories for sale. Director of Department of Industries, HP, IAS Rajesh Sharma, launched the online portal and said, “Two items that went with Indian Prime Minister on his America trip are Kullu shawl and Kangra tea, so the brand Tequeela has already gone international, all you need is perseverance and right marketing. It’s important to sit more often with youngsters so the communication gap is bridged.”

Other dignitaries present were G. C. Negi, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Shimla and Sanjay Sharma, Deputy Director of Department of Industries, Himachal Pradesh. Negi appreciated the initiative and said, “Focus on cover designs depicting Himachali culture and social causes are commendable. Problems like drug addiction and pollution are some issues where we, MC Shimla, can officially collaborate.”

The portal was launched with some exclusive offers and a chance to win a Goa trip for two lucky buyers. In addition, the startup also offered up to 50 percent promotional discount on the occasion of launch.

Tequeela.com not only offers designer accessories, but also puts Pahari culture on smartphone accessories like mobile covers. All smartphone cases are designed and manufactured in Shimla itself. Each case listed features design created by the in-house team of creative designers. Several designs carry a tinge of Himachali tradition and culture to promote the hill state’s versatility at the world stage. Be it colorful pattern on Kulluvi shawls or caps, each design speaks about Himachali culture.

Apart from this, Tequeela is addressing social causes like women empowerment, water conservation, Swachh Bharat, green energy, safe driving, drug-free Himachal, etc. using the power of technology.
