Excerpts from “Will To Power”- Friedrich Nietzsche  965 (1884)

“The revolution, confusion, and distress of peoples is, in my view, inferior to the distress of great individuals during their development. One must not let oneself be deceived: the many distresses of all the small constitute a sum only in the feelings of powerful human beings. – To think of oneself in moments of great danger, to derive advantage from the disadvantage of many: this can be, in the case of a very high degree of deviation, a sign of a great character who manages to master his compassionate and just impulses.”

This is a beautiful excerpt from the writings of Friedrich Nietzche and this gives a very concise view of a child’s development in a hypothetically perfect world. The piece gives a perfect deviation of what the present child is — what they want and what they do? Every parent’s child is innocent and much to their joy they fulfil every demand that is unjust; only to be un-blinded in future of their mischief and developmental regressions.

When Nietzsche uses the word deceived for an individual, the only thing comes to human mind is the deception of behaviour and to the good of self. Never does it occur to one that the human mind is being deceived, the point is so grave that I would compare this to a delusion.

Delusion is only of the mind and actions speak of it. The one who judges is no more than deceived but also affected. This is a chain reaction. Such a reaction is penetrating the child’s development too.

The skipped generations of today tells that the child is deriving advantage from the disadvantages of their peers.

This is making the greatest character but the one who curbs these urges, the one whose parents come in and guide the child becomes a great character.

The art of parenting is not subtle but very raw and the outlook has to be subtle. Every parent needs a tailor made strategy to make sure their child has the right peers, right exposure and risk benefit in every activity has to be accessed.

Needless to say that the modern parent is just as deviant as the child, the society is brimming with psychosocial elements, deviants and skewing the society into the paranormal.

The solution is parents and their methodology of risk stratification. Timely intervention and early planning would be a successful mantra to bring out the compassion and master the child’s impulses.
