Shimla’s historic Ridge Ground transformed into a vibrant trade centre for local products during the three-day Him MSME Fest 2026, recording business transactions exceeding Rs 30 lakh. The strong sales performance highlighted growing consumer confidence in micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) of Himachal Pradesh and reinforced the importance of such platforms for local economic growth.
More than 50 stalls were set up at the festival, with factory outlet stalls being introduced for the first time. These outlets attracted significant attention by offering products from well-known and trusted brands directly at factory rates, lower than prevailing market prices. The initiative benefited consumers through affordable access to quality goods, while providing local entrepreneurs with an effective platform for direct marketing and customer engagement.
The festival featured a wide range of products including handloom items, leather goods, food products and wood-based articles. Tourists from across the country and abroad showed keen interest, leading to brisk sales and helping Himachal Pradesh’s local products gain wider recognition and new markets. Promoting the vision of “Local to Global,” the event enabled artisans, producers and entrepreneurs to connect directly with consumers.
The initiative to promote Himachal Pradesh’s local products received widespread appreciation from consumers, tourists and entrepreneurs alike. Participants described the Industry Department’s efforts as innovative and highly beneficial for strengthening the MSME sector.
On the occasion, Dr Yunus, Director of the Industries Department, congratulated all entrepreneurs, participants and officials involved for the successful organization of Him MSME Fest 2026. He said such events not only provide strong market support to local products but also play a crucial role in boosting the state’s economy, generating employment and encouraging entrepreneurship.
