ahgs.30.4.16bTiny Tots of Auckland House Girls School celebrated their annual sports day here today. During the event nearly 350 students of the junior section participated and showcased their strength, making their parents as well as teachers proud. Rewa Gupta, Associate Professor English, R.K.M.V. College, Shimla, graced the occasion as chief guest and expressed her experience for the day by saying that it was a great pleasure and honour to be part of the event. She appreciated the efforts put in by students as well as teachers for making this day a great success.

She also emphasized on the importance of sports in the lives of students. She spoke about her fruitful years spent in the school and recalled the good old times and also assured the parents that it is one of the best institutes which she described by recalling the lyrics from the school song “School which is our pride to whom our youthful years are given to mould us and to guide” and hence their child will be ready to take on anything in the world.

ahgs.30.4.16aThe event started with presenting of a bouquet to the chief guest followed by a series of spectacular events consisting of Aerobics by Form I & II as the entire class displayed their athletic agility and skills. The next performance was an educative one as the girls displayed their acrobatic skills through the Stop, Look, Go P.T.

Following this energetic display, it was a treat to watch the little ones run their first races. The parents too couldn’t hide their excitement as they cheered loudly for their wards, encouragining them to cross the finish line.

As the eventful day was coming to an end, School Principal Sunita John thanked everyone for being present on the occasion. She gave an insight into the rich history of the school and informed about the 150th years of its existence and the forthcoming celebrations. She felt proud to be a part of an institution which has helped in making uncountable girls into strong minded and powerful individuals who are constantly contributing in making a world a better place.
