National Youth Day is observed every year across India on 12 January to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, who was born on this day in 1863. The day serves as a tribute to his life, teachings, and enduring legacy. It aims to inspire and empower young people by promoting the values that Swami Vivekananda championed—self-confidence, dedication to service, and commitment to the betterment of society. Schools, colleges, and youth organizations often organize programs, speeches, and competitions to encourage young individuals to adopt his principles and contribute positively to the community.
