15 April is observed as Himachal Day, also known as Himachal Pradesh Statehood Day, marking the historic formation of the state in 1948 through the merger of 30 small and large hill princely states. The day commemorates this unification and celebrates the journey of Himachal Pradesh from its inception to its present-day progress. It also reflects the spirit of unity, resilience, and collective development of its people, while highlighting pride in the state’s rich cultural heritage and achievements over the years.
