International Mentoring Day, observed on 17 January, highlights the importance of mentoring in guiding individuals toward personal, educational and professional success. Mentoring is a relationship in which an experienced person supports, advises and encourages someone with less experience, helping them grow in confidence and skills. The day aims to raise awareness about how mentors positively influence lives by sharing knowledge, values and life lessons. It also encourages people to acknowledge and thank their mentors, while inspiring others to become mentors themselves. Overall, International Mentoring Day promotes learning, leadership and mutual growth, strengthening individuals as well as society.
