World Earth Day is observed every year on April 22 to raise global awareness about environmental protection and the need to safeguard our planet for future generations. It began in 1970 as a public movement against pollution in the United States and has since grown into a worldwide initiative celebrated in more than 190 countries. The day highlights key environmental concerns such as climate change, deforestation, pollution, loss of biodiversity, and increasing plastic waste. On this occasion, people, organizations, and governments participate in activities like tree plantation drives, cleanliness campaigns, and awareness programmes. The main aim of World Earth Day is to remind everyone that protecting the Earth is a shared responsibility and to encourage sustainable actions for a healthier and greener future.
