International CAPS LOCK Day is an unofficial, light-hearted internet observance celebrated annually on 28 June (and again on 22 October) to celebrate the use of ALL CAPITAL LETTERS in digital communication. Created in 2000 by software developer Derek Arnold, the day humorously encourages people to type messages entirely in uppercase, playfully mimicking the online convention that writing in all caps is equivalent to shouting. While not an official international holiday, it has gained popularity on social media and among online communities as a fun reminder of internet culture, digital etiquette, and the importance of using capitalization appropriately in written communication.
