Two-Day Certificate Course on Environmental Management & Pollution Control

The State Board is organising two-day Certificate Course on Environmental Management & Pollution Control from 8-9 September 2022 at CORD Dharamshala. The training is attended by district/block administrations/functionaries, Executive Officers of urban local bodies and other stakeholders from District Una, Kangra and Chamba.. Sh. Apoorv Devgan (IAS) Member Secretary, HP State Pollution Control Board graced the occasion threw light on various important issues pertaining to environmental management and pollution control for effective implementation of environmental laws. He also outlined the overall objectives of the training programme and steer the training program during 8-9 September 2022. R.N. Jindal, Director (Retd) MoEF & CC Govt. of India made presentations on the legal framework for environmental protection and pollution control including Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution), 1981 and other rules framed under Environment Protection Act, 1986.  

An exposure visit to Waste Warriors Swachta Kender at Rakkar, Sewage Treatment Plant at Gamru and Solid Waste Processing facility of Municipal Council Kangra was also be conducted. The second day technical session shall cover the issue related to behaviour change and Solid Waste Management in context of HP by Sh. Apoorv Devgan (IAS) Member Secretary, HP State Pollution Control Board shall cover the emerging challenges in Management of Plastic Waste with the objective to effectively regulate the use of notified single use plastic, use of compostable carry bags and verification of EPR action plan of PIBOs. Dr. Dinesh Poshwal, from Rebound Envirotech Pvt. Ltd Dharamshala shall discuss changes of urbanization and its effect on water resources. Sewage Management and Polluted River Stretch. Dr. Mukesh Sharma, Professor, IIT Kanpur shall discuss issue related to the Air Pollution Control & Management and Action points as per NCAP plan and waste management along with noise pollution control and monitoring. The second day shall also witness a panel discussion, which include Dr. Nipun Jindal (IAS) Deputy Commissioner, Kangra, Dr. Krishan Metre, National Director, CORD and Shri R.N. Jindal Director (Retd) MoEF GOI.
