Public Works, Youth Services and Sports Minister Vikramaditya Singh today participated in the two-day ‘Chintan Shivir’ held at Imphal, Manipur. Chintan Shivir was addressed by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi through video conferencing. Vikramaditya Singh said that youth have the most important role in the development of any country therefore it was important to channelize their energy in the right direction,

He said that global warming was a threat to the world’s environment and is adversely affecting not only mankind but nature as well. He said that youth can play an important role in checking the global warming process. While talking about the various side effects of global warming, he also detailed out various youth welfare schemes being implemented by the State government.

He said that concrete efforts were being made to strengthen the infrastructure for the development of sports in the state. Ministers of Youth Affairs & Sports from various States and Union Territories are participating in the Chintan Shivir. Discussions will be held for working towards the objectives of personality-building and nation-building, that is, developing the personality of youth by involving them in various nations-building activities. Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Anurag Singh Thakur was also present on the occasion.
