Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu inaugurated the cultural evening of the five-day National-Level Sharad-Utsav at Manu Rangshala, Manali. He extended greetings and prayed to Hidimba Mata for the well-being of the people.

Tourism Development Projects Announced for Manali

The Chief Minister unveiled a Rs. 150 crore tourism development project funded by the Asian Development Bank, which includes:

  • A wellness centre
  • Naggar Castle refurbishment
  • Ice skating and roller skating rinks

Infrastructure Improvements in Manali

  • New Bridge Construction: Rs. 15 crore allocated for a bridge connecting Rangdi to the left bank to reduce traffic.
  • Kalath Development: Plans for a hot water bath facility, nature park, and amenities at Kalath.

Women’s Participation Encouraged

Incentives for women groups participating in the Shobha Yatra increased to Rs. 30,000, promoting traditional attire and local cuisine.

Promoting Winter Sports in Manali

Winners of the Ski Mountaineering Competition were felicitated:

  • Women’s Category: Sakshi Thakur (1st), Tenzin Dolma (2nd), Natasha Mehar (3rd).
  • Men’s Category: Hira Lal (1st), Tenzin Bodh (2nd), Giriraj (3rd).

Cultural Festivities and Public Interaction

The Chief Minister participated in cultural programs, sang at the audience’s request, and interacted with locals and tourists on Mall Road.

  • Manali MLA Bhuvneshwar Gaur highlighted ongoing multi-crore projects for improving sewerage and drinking water facilities.
  • Deputy Commissioner Torul S. Raveesh detailed the five-day festivities.
