In a major legal victory, CM Sukhu announced that Himachal Pradesh has secured ₹401 crore following the resolution of the long-pending Wildflower Hall dispute. The state, which received zero revenue from the luxury property over the last 23 years, is now set to earn approximately ₹37 crore annually through an upcoming e-auction. Emphasizing that these funds belong to the public, the Chief Minister affirmed that the newly generated revenue will be channeled directly into welfare programs and state development.

The victory comes amid severe financial headwinds for Himachal Pradesh. CM Sukhu highlighted that the Central Government’s discontinuation of the Revenue Deficit Grant (RDG) has dealt an annual blow of ₹8,000 crore to ₹10,000 crore to the state’s coffers. Additionally, following the state’s decision to fulfill its promise of restoring the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) for government employees, central financial support was further reduced by ₹1,600 crore. Despite these fiscal hurdles and a lack of cross-party support in raising the RDG issue with central authorities, the state government remains resolved to plug system loopholes and curb systemic corruption.

Parallel to its economic drive, the government is taking decisive steps to eradicate the growing drug menace, particularly the proliferation of chitta. Under the present administration, strict enforcement measures have been put in place, including the implementation of the PIT-NDPS Act to deal firmly with habitual drug traffickers. Beyond legislative action, mass awareness drives like public walkathons—frequently led by the Chief Minister himself—are actively engaging the youth to foster a healthy, drug-free lifestyle and build a financially self-reliant Himachal Pradesh.
