Shimla: The World Bank Team on mission for supply and sewerage programme for Shimla called on Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh.
The Team apprised the UD Minister about the work being carried out by the Shimla Jal Prabandhan Nigam Limited (SJPNL) on this programme estimating 250 MUSD. The Team requested the Minister to push the 24X7 water supply project being implemented with a cost of Rs. 872 crore and operation and maintenance for 15 years.
Principal Secretary, Urban Development Devesh Kumar apprised the Minister regarding expansion of SJPNL to four Municipal Corporations of the State including Mandi, Dharamshala, Solan and Palampur. The utility then shall be named as Himachal Jal Prabandhan Nigam Limited.
The World Bank Team was led by Carmen and Tanuj Mathur. The Managing Director Virender Singh Thakur and General Manager Rajesh Kashyap of the SJPL were also present on this occasion. The Team will also have meeting with Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena.
