International Yoga Day 2025 was celebrated with great enthusiasm under the theme Yoga for One Earth, One Health across all 2154 Anganwadi centers and children’s institutions in Firozabad district. The event, observed on June 21st, included mass yoga practice sessions led by trained instructors and workers.

During the sessions, children were guided through a variety of yoga asanas such as Tadasana, Anulom-Vilom, Surya Namaskar, Vajrasana, Bhujangasana, Vakrasana, and Shavasana. The benefits of yoga for physical and mental health were emphasized, especially its role in managing conditions like obesity, diabetes, hypertension, depression, and anxiety.

Officials highlighted how regular yoga practice improves flexibility, reduces stress, and enhances overall well-being. Yoga was also presented as a powerful preventive tool for lifestyle diseases and as a means to achieve inner balance.

This year marks the 11th observance of International Yoga Day since its inception in 2015. On this occasion, key officials, including Rajesh Sharma from the Department of Panchayati Raj and Rural Development and Director of Women and Child Development Dr. I.D. Lalit, attended the event at the Girls’ Institute in Shikohabad. They encouraged children to adopt yoga and meditation as a routine practice for a healthier future.
