At the conclusion of the national youth conclave ‘Swasthya Manthan-2026’ at Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla, Governor Kavinder Gupta urged young people to take charge of spreading health awareness, eradicating social stigma, and driving humanitarian action. The event, themed “Harnessing Youth Leadership for a Healthier Tomorrow,” was hosted by HPNLU alongside the NCC Unit and the State and District Red Cross Societies.
Commending the participants and winners, the Governor highlighted that young people serve as both the future and the present backbone of the nation. He emphasized that genuine health extends far beyond medical facilities and treatments, binding itself closely to human dignity, equality, and social justice. Addressing the audience as President of the State Red Cross, he stressed that society must combat ignorance and prejudice just as aggressively as it fights physical illness.
Governor Gupta called on youth to actively dispel health myths with accurate information and to encourage early care and counseling. He noted that the law should act as an instrument to protect individual rights and dignity, adding that blending public health, legal framework, and psychology is key to cultivating a healthy, empathetic society.
In his closing remarks, he reminded students that authentic leadership stems from responsibility and selfless service rather than title or rank. He urged them to help build a compassionate culture where seeking medical aid carries no fear or judgment, before commending HPNLU and the co-organizers and officially declaring the conclave closed.
