At an age when most kids are still choosing their favorite playground game, 10-year-old Shivas Janaik is busy dominating the shooting range. The Class V prodigy from Auckland House School for Boys (AHSB) has already stacked up an incredible eight medals since 2025—including five golds, two silvers, and a bronze—emerging as one of Himachal Pradesh’s sharpest young talents.
His latest victory came at the 10th HP State Inter-School Shooting Championship, where he out-shot 145 competitors in the 10-meter rifle event. Scoring a massive 395 points, he snatched the gold by a paper-thin margin of just one point. That nail-biting win capped off a stellar 2026 run that included top finishes at the Shimla District Championship, the Pre-HP State Championship, and two silvers at the HP State Shooting Championship.
What makes his rise even cooler is that Shivas picked up a rifle purely by chance after his older brother introduced him to the sport. Facing tough rivals with far superior gear at the state level did not rattle him one bit. Instead, the young shooter relied on pure grit and laser-sharp focus—a mental edge he surprisingly credits to his love for solving math problems in the classroom.
When he isn’t hitting bullseyes or crunching numbers, Shivas keeps it low-key by playing cricket, kicking a football around, and listening to his favorite tunes. With a trophy shelf already bursting at age ten, Shivas Janaik isn’t just winning local tournaments—he is quietly laying the groundwork for a massive sports career ahead, making the entire AHSB family incredibly proud.
