CM Sukhu performed the inaugurations and foundation stone layings of 17 major development projects worth Rs. 190 crore during his one-day visit to Sirmaur district. The projects, spread across Nahan and Paonta Sahib, aim to strengthen infrastructure, education, and urban facilities in the district.
The Chief Minister laid foundation stones for projects totaling Rs. 152 crore. Key projects include the implementation of Smart Grid Technologies in Nahan (Rs. 53.40 crore) and Paonta Sahib (Rs. 43.66 crore), road improvements such as Bheron–Adi Badri (Rs. 16.04 crore) and Kanshiwala to Biroja Factory via Jabbal Ka Bag (Rs. 12.36 crore), as well as link roads connecting remote villages and the NH-07 corridor (Rs. 10.11 crore collectively). He also laid the foundation for the Chief Medical Office in Nahan (Rs. 8.42 crore) and upgrades to Burma Papri–Palion–Majri road (Rs. 8.17 crore).
In addition, CM Sukhu inaugurated projects worth Rs. 38 crore, aimed at improving education, sports, and administrative infrastructure. These include a new Table Tennis-cum-Squash Court Complex in Nahan (Rs. 3.03 crore), various blocks of the Government Polytechnic at Dhaula Kuan including Boys Hostel (Rs. 3.17 crore), Academic Block’s second floor (Rs. 4.91 crore), Residential Accommodation (Rs. 7.81 crore), Girls Hostel (Rs. 3.30 crore) and Automobile Block (Rs. 2.41 crore). He also inaugurated a link road from Judda-Ka-Johar to Village Gadda (Rs. 2.57 crore), a Fire Post building at Kala Amb (Rs. 3.80 crore), and the District Panchayat Resource Centre in Nahan (Rs. 5.65 crore).
These initiatives are part of the state government’s effort to enhance urban infrastructure, modernize power systems, improve road connectivity, and strengthen educational facilities in Sirmaur district. CM Sukhu emphasized that these projects will benefit both residents and future generations, contributing to the overall development of the region.
