Government To Give Priority To Filling Job Vacancies In Tribal Regions

A spokesman of the State Government informed here today that 2nd May, 2023 has been declared as a “Public Holiday” in the areas of Municipal Corporation Shimla where MC elections are to be held and also in Ward No. 02, Palampur Upperla of Municipal Corporation, Palampur where bye election is to be held.

He said that all Government offices, Boards, Corporations, Educational Institutions and Industrial establishments situated in the Himachal Pradesh under Industrial Disputes Act and shops would remain closed on the said date in the areas of above mentioned Municipal Corporations. This would also be a paid holiday to daily wages employees under Section 25 of Negotiable Instrument Act 1881.

He clarified that special casual leave may be given to those employees who were working in different places in the State but have a right to vote in MC Shimla and Ward N0. 2 of MC Palampur on the production of certificate from the concerned Presiding Officer that the employees has actually cast his/her vote.
