88,000 Volunteers Set To Join National Youth Day Campaign For Safer Tomorrow

National Youth Day is being organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra Shimla at ITI Sunni to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. It is a nationwide celebration of the youth potential of India. Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports This event is being celebrated all over India with a unique and comprehensive approach to develop, engage and empower the youth of the country. At the center of this grand celebration is MY Bharat, an online platform dedicated to the youth of India.

The department has organized its organizations N.Y.K.S. And N.S.S. Intensive awareness cum onboarding drives are being conducted across the country to ensure that every youth gets access to the experiential learning and Volunteer for India opportunities provided by the portal. District Youth Officer Ms. Manisha Sharma said that the district level mega program on National Youth Day 2024 will start with paying floral tributes to Swami Vivekananda, after which there will be live screening of the Prime Minister’s address to the nation.

The trained road safety volunteers will be flagged off by Union/State Ministers, local MPs or MLAs , signifying the commitment of the intensive campaign to build a safer tomorrow. These volunteers will be deployed to assist in handling traffic at traffic choke points and conduct road safety awareness activities. Over 5 days from January 12-17 , more than 88,000 volunteers will participate in the campaign.

Winners of district level speech competitions on the theme “MY Bharat – Developed India @ 2047 – by the youth , for the youth” will deliver their address during the Youth Day program on the life and message of Swami Vivekananda. The highlight of the Youth Day program is the MY Bharat portal registration of all the participants. Registered MY Bharat volunteers will be recognized for their dedication and willingness to serve by giving them badges.

At the end of the programme, a cultural program showcasing the diverse cultural heritage of the district and talent of the youth will also be presented with the participation of the winners of the Youth Utsav as well as teams/individuals from the host institutions.
