Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu expressed profound pride and reverence as he paid tribute to two courageous sons of Himachal Pradesh who were posthumously awarded the Kirti Chakra and Shaurya Chakra by President Droupadi Murmu in New Delhi on Thursday evening.
Gunner Nayak Dilwar Khan, aged 28, from Gharwasda village in Una district, and Havildar Rohit Kumar Negi, aged 23, from Taranda village in Kinnaur district, were recognized for their supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
Honouring their bravery, the Chief Minister stated that the entire state stands in solidarity to salute these martyrs. He reaffirmed that Himachal Pradesh, known as Veer Bhoomi, has a proud legacy of producing valiant soldiers who have always been at the forefront in defending the nation.
“The courage and dedication of these martyrs not only inspire the youth of Himachal but echo across the entire nation,” CM Sukhu remarked. He added that such national recognition is a moment of immense pride for every Himachali.
