Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Savitri Thakur, visited the Sethi Nagar Anganwadi Centre in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, as part of a field outreach initiative to assess the on-ground implementation of key government schemes aimed at women and children. Accompanied by senior officials and media representatives, the Minister interacted with Anganwadi Workers, beneficiaries, and local stakeholders to evaluate the impact of nutrition, health, and early childhood education services.

During her visit, Thakur highlighted the remarkable transformation Anganwadi Centres have undergone over the last 11 years under the leadership of PM Modi. She noted that improvements in infrastructure, the adoption of digital tools like the Poshan Tracker, and capacity-building of frontline workers have made these centres more efficient and community-responsive. She emphasized that Anganwadis are no longer just nutrition hubs but have evolved into holistic early childhood development centres aligned with the Saksham Anganwadi vision under Poshan 2.0.

The Minister praised various schemes such as PMMVY, Mission Indradhanush, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, and Anaemia Mukt Bharat for playing a transformative role in improving maternal and child health, empowering women, and strengthening grassroots systems. She stated that this decade has laid a strong foundation for a “New India” powered by Nari Shakti—where women are safe, healthy, self-reliant, and at the forefront of national development.

Reaffirming the Government’s commitment to malnutrition-free India and last-mile service delivery, the Minister also spotlighted achievements in areas such as girl child education, financial inclusion through PMJDY and MUDRA, and legal empowerment via the One Stop Centres and Triple Talaq legislation. She called on the community to continue supporting these efforts to secure a healthier and more empowered future for women and children across the country.
