In a rare show of unity during crisis, CM Sukhu and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur jointly visited the flood-affected Thunag market in Seraj constituency, one of the worst-hit areas during the recent cloudbursts.

Both leaders interacted with the affected locals, listened to their concerns, and assured them of every possible support for relief and rehabilitation.

Speaking to the media after the inspection, Sukhu stated that he will soon visit Delhi to meet Union Ministers and push for a special relief package from the central government for the disaster-hit areas. He emphasized the urgent need for coordinated efforts in rebuilding infrastructure and rehabilitating those who have lost their homes and livelihoods.

During the visit, the Chief Minister also went to the residence of Budhi Raj, who tragically lost his life in the flash floods. He offered condolences to the bereaved family and assured them of all necessary government assistance.

The joint presence of both ruling and opposition leaders sent a strong message of solidarity and shared responsibility during a time of calamity.
