CM Sukhu expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people of Nadaun, particularly those from the Bara zone in Hamirpur district, for their generous contribution of relief materials for families affected by the recent natural disaster in Seraj Assembly constituency, Mandi.
While the district administration continues relief and rehabilitation efforts, support from civil society has added strength to the mission. Today, representatives from Nadaun formally handed over a substantial consignment of relief material to the Chief Minister at Thunag.
The items included food grains, vegetables, cooking oil, kitchen utensils, clothing, and essential daily-use items such as:
-
5 sacks of flour, 11 sacks of rice, 1 quintal sugar
-
60 kg each of gram dal and maize, 45 liters oil, 50 kg potatoes
-
10 buckets, 10 mugs, 90 pairs of shoes/slippers
-
3700 plates and glasses, pressure cookers, baby milk bottles, bath and laundry soaps
The materials were handed over by retired SBI manager Sudarshan Jariyal, former vice-president Rajesh Kumar, and 20-Point Programme members Kuldeep Kumar, Jeet Singh, Nikhil Kumar, Atul Patial, and Balveer Singh.
Sukhu lauded the generous gesture, calling it a “symbol of unity, compassion, and social responsibility.” He assured that the aid would be distributed to affected families through the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Mandi.
“This outpouring of support from people across the state shows how deeply connected we are as a society, especially in times of need,” the CM said.
