Loreto Convent, Tara Hall’s kindergarten class wowed the audience with their annual concert, ‘Rainbow of Cultures – Our India’, held at the Gonzaga Auditorium. The event, a vibrant celebration of India’s diverse regions and national symbols, was graced by the Chief Guest, Father Dexen, Parish Priest of St. Michael Cathedral.
The concert kicked off with a warm welcome speech, followed by a symbolic plant watering ceremony representing the nurturing of young minds. A colorful procession of children dressed in traditional attire showcased the diverse cultures of India, including Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi, and Kashmiri communities. The fancy dress segment further delighted the crowd with students dressed as national symbols, such as peacocks, lotuses, and the river Ganga.
The stage came alive with an energetic medley of regional dances. The little stars danced to the beats of Punjabi Bhangra, the graceful Kashmiri Rouf, and the peppy Goan dance. The program ended on a high note with a grand finale, where all the children gathered for a heartfelt bow, leaving the audience with a deep sense of pride for India’s rich heritage.
Father Dexen, in his address, spoke about the importance of joint families and the invaluable memories created by spending time with children. He commended Loreto Convent for presenting such a spectacular celebration of Indian culture.
The school’s Principal, Reetu Sharma, expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, parents, grandparents, teachers, and staff for their support in making the event a success. She highlighted that such events are an integral part of the school’s holistic approach to education.
The event concluded with a unified rendition of the National Anthem, leaving a lasting impression on all attendees.
