Reaffirming its commitment to employee welfare, the Himachal Pradesh Government has decided to put on hold the recent notification regarding the removal of Rule 7A from the Himachal Pradesh Civil Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 2022. The decision follows the directions of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, and the notification issued on 6th September 2025 will now be held in abeyance.
Chief Minister Sukhu stated that the well-being of government employees remains a top priority for the state administration. He emphasized that any amendments to service rules must take into account humanitarian concerns and be made with due sensitivity. Issuing orders that may adversely impact employees, he said, is neither justified nor aligned with the government’s pro-employee approach.
Earlier in the day, various employee associations met with the Chief Minister in Shimla and urged the withdrawal of the notification. Responding to their concerns, the Chief Minister assured the representatives that the government stands firmly with its employees and remains committed to protecting their interests.
Highlighting the government’s employee-friendly initiatives, the Chief Minister recalled that one of the first major decisions taken after assuming office was the restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS). He further noted that the state government has consistently provided financial benefits and support to employees as part of its governance agenda.
Chief Minister Sukhu reiterated that employee welfare would continue to be a cornerstone of the government’s policies and that future decisions would reflect this unwavering commitment.
