Chairing a late-evening meeting with Administrative Secretaries, the Chief Minister issued a series of key administrative directions aimed at improving efficiency and accountability across departments.
He instructed all departments to ensure early clearance of pending gratuity and leave encashment dues of Class-IV pensioners, in line with budget commitments. He also sought detailed reports on applications received under compassionate appointment cases to enable timely government decisions.
Taking a strict stance against drug trafficking, the Chief Minister asked for updates on action taken against government employees allegedly involved in chitta (heroin) trade. He reiterated that the government has launched a mass campaign against drugs and that protecting youth from substance abuse remains a top priority.
He also directed departments to compile complete data on vacant posts to ensure timely recruitment, adding that the government has already decided to fill 500 posts of Junior Office Assistant (IT).
On forest management, the Chief Minister ordered departments to assess trees uprooted or damaged on forest land due to recent storms and ensure their timely removal. A special drive will begin from June 1. He warned that delays in clearing fallen trees lead to loss of state resources and must be addressed on priority.
