The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) marked a significant milestone today by organizing the fourth edition of its flagship stakeholder conference ‘Aadhaar Samvaad’ in Hyderabad. The event brought together over 700 stakeholders, including senior government officials, industry leaders, technocrats, and innovators from the startup ecosystem, to explore ways to enhance service delivery and foster digital inclusion through the use of Aadhaar.

This year’s conference was particularly special as it coincided with the 16th Foundation Day of Aadhaar, a landmark moment in India’s digital transformation journey. What began as a unique digital identity initiative has now evolved into a foundational pillar of India’s Digital Public Infrastructure, empowering over a billion residents with secure, seamless access to services across sectors.

Delivering the keynote address, S. Krishnan, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), emphasized Aadhaar’s critical role in enabling efficient public service delivery. He stated that Aadhaar is among the safest identity systems globally and encouraged UIDAI to continue expanding its innovative use cases to improve public convenience.

Neelkanth Mishra, Chairperson of UIDAI, highlighted the importance of stakeholder engagement and reiterated UIDAI’s commitment to continued innovation, noting that new and emerging use cases of Aadhaar will further empower citizens in the near future.

UIDAI CEO Bhuvnesh Kumar described Aadhaar not just as a 12-digit ID, but as a journey of empowerment, accessibility, and trust. He noted that Aadhaar will remain central to India’s digital future, playing a vital role across domains — from healthcare and education to governance, entrepreneurship, and beyond.

To commemorate the 16th Aadhaar Day, India Post unveiled a special Aadhaar MyStamp and commemorative cover, presented by the Postmaster General of the Telangana Circle. This symbolic gesture highlights Aadhaar’s growing significance in India’s socio-digital landscape.

Another key announcement at the event was the launch of the Aadhaar Brand Manual — a comprehensive guide that defines visual and communication standards across UIDAI’s platforms, ensuring clarity, consistency, and recognizability in Aadhaar-related communications.

The conference also featured live demonstrations by UIDAI’s Technology Centre showcasing the next-generation Aadhaar app, which will offer enhanced user control and access to services, further empowering Aadhaar number holders.

This was the fourth edition of Aadhaar Samvaad, following successful events in Bengaluru (Nov 2024) focusing on digital identity technologies, Mumbai (Jan 2025) on fintech and telecom, and Delhi, where governance was the central theme. In Hyderabad, the theme — “Connect, Empower, Innovate” — drove discussions around broadening Aadhaar’s utility, integrating startups, and ensuring citizen-centric innovation.

Throughout the day, sessions covered a range of pressing topics including innovation in digital identity, unlocking Aadhaar for non-government use, and enhancements in the enrollment and update ecosystem, fostering collaborative dialogue for the future of Aadhaar.
