A government spokesperson announced today that CM Sukhu has directed the Health Department to develop a mobile application enabling online payments for medical tests in government hospitals across Himachal Pradesh. The move is part of a broader push towards digital governance and improved healthcare accessibility.
The Chief Minister has instructed that the app be developed within a month, in collaboration with the Department of Digital Technologies and Governance. The new platform will allow patients to pay for medical tests online, eliminating the need to wait in long hospital queues. In addition, the app will feature online appointment booking with doctors at various hospitals, further streamlining healthcare services.
“This initiative aims to provide citizens with efficient, cashless, and hassle-free healthcare services,” the spokesperson said.
The government is also investing heavily in the health sector, with over ₹3,000 crore earmarked to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and bring advanced medical facilities to the state. This includes equipping hospitals and medical colleges with modern technology, reducing the need for patients to seek treatment outside the state.
