The Sardar@150 National Unity March continued its inspiring journey on Day 2 through Anand district today, organised by Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, with thousands of youth and citizens participating to honour the legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and promote the vision of Ek Bharat, Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

The day began with a Yog Shivir at Napad, bringing together volunteers, students, padyatris, and local residents for a guided yoga session promoting wellness and collective harmony. Following this, participants engaged in “Ek Ped Maa ke Naam”, a symbolic tree-planting activity at Smriti Van to foster environmental consciousness. The padyatra then progressed along a 15.7 km route through Napad Bus Stop, Anand–Umeta Road, Khadol, Asodar, Mujkuva, and concluding at the Anklav Bus Station, with MY Bharat volunteers ensuring smooth coordination and support throughout the march.

A key highlight of the day was the Sardar Gatha at Asodar – ITI Anklav, themed “Sardar: Gandhi’s Steadfast Companion”, featuring Deep Pragtya (lamp lighting) and a Sanman Samaroh to honour local contributors, including artisans and workers. Dignitaries present included R. N. Ravi, Governor of Tamil Nadu, Prof. S. P. Singh Baghel, B. L. Verma, Darshana Jardosh, and senior officials from district and state administration.

Addressing the gathering, Governor R. N. Ravi paid tribute to Sardar Patel’s unwavering nation-first spirit, recalling Operation Sindoor and Dharm Dhvaj as exemplary demonstrations of leadership and national unity. He emphasised that PM Narendra Modi’s Viksit Bharat@2047 vision requires the dedication and sankalp of every citizen, inspiring patriotic fervour with enthusiastic chants of “Jai Sardar.”

At Anklav Bus Station, an exhibition titled “Sardar as Mayor – Building Modern Ahmedabad” was inaugurated, highlighting Patel’s early leadership in civic governance and his role in modernising Ahmedabad. The day concluded with a Gram Sabha and a traditional Dayro, featuring folk music and storytelling celebrating Gujarat’s rich cultural heritage.

The Sardar@150 National Unity March, part of the nationwide commemoration of Sardar Patel’s 150th birth anniversary, combines padyatras, cultural programmes, exhibitions, and youth-led initiatives to inspire citizens to reflect on Patel’s enduring legacy of unity, nation-building, and administrative excellence. The march now moves forward with renewed enthusiasm for Day 3, commencing from the Hare Krishna Temple, Anklav, towards Aarana Lawns, Sevasi, continuing its mission of public engagement and celebration of Sardar Patel’s ideals.
