As part of National Road Safety Month–2026, the District Road Safety Committee, Shimla, is organizing a blood donation camp and a free eye check-up camp on January 31, 2026, at Mall Road, The Ridge, Shimla.
In this regard, Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Shimla, Vishwa Mohan Dev Chauhan, appealed to all private bus and taxi operators’ unions, HRTC drivers, conductors, officials, employees, as well as general citizens, pedestrians, and all road users to actively participate in this public welfare initiative.
RTO Shimla and Member Secretary of the District Road Safety Committee, Vishwa Mohan Chauhan, emphasized that road safety is not limited to vehicle drivers alone; it is a collective responsibility of every citizen. He highlighted that regular eye examinations are essential for drivers, while pedestrians and the general public must also check their vision to ensure their own safety and that of others. Additionally, by participating in blood donation, individuals can contribute to saving countless lives.
He urged all transport organizations and citizens to join this road safety campaign in large numbers, donate blood, and take advantage of the free eye check-up camp to help build a safe, responsible, and sensitive traffic system.
“Road safety is not just about following rules; it is a commitment to protect lives. Let us all come together to make this initiative successful and embrace the message of Arrive Alive.”
